About College Buildings and Grounds
The College Buildings and Grounds Collection includes views from two early Oswego Normal School buildings in the city of Oswego to the current campus beginning with Sheldon Hall, the "Old Normal". Dates range from 19th century to the 1970s. Images include groundbreaking, cornerstone laying, aerial views, temporary buildings, orientation, relocation of homes, Camp Shady Shore, temporary buildings such as Splinter Village, Sheldon Beach, parking lots, the SUNY Oswego bus, Lee Hall bowling alley, snow removal, the campus pub, Glimmerglass Lagoon, the Lake Ontario shoreline and campus construction. Included are building names such as Culkin Hall, the Mackin complex, Hart & Funnelle Halls, Hewitt Union, Johnson Hall, the college store, Laker Hall, Lakeside Dining Hall, Park Hall, Rich Hall, Riggs Hall, Swetman Hall, Waterbury Hall, Hillcrest Hall, Cooper Dining Hall, Penfield Library, Shady Shore, Lee Hall, Romney Fieldhouse, Biological Field Station, Piez Hall, Tyler Hall, The Welland and Wilbur Hall.
