Abstract:
Complement Factor H (CFH) and complement component 3 (C3) are proteins responsible for helping the innate immune system to respond to pathogen clearance in the body and when misregulated can lead to autoimmune disorders. CFH is considered to be a possible regulator protein in this system whereas C3 activation is an essential step in the system's response. Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) was used to study the interactions between the two components allowing for the binding kinetics to be observed.
