Abstract:
Choose MyPlate.gov is a public health campaign sponsored by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Its goal is to help schools, health agencies, and individuals make food choices to improve health outcomes. This scholarship will highlight how Choose MyPlate.gov sample graphics, food images, and recipes may leave out many immigrant and refugee communities in the United States (US). The author has developed OUR PLATE samples graphics and recipes to be more inclusive of the more diverse population in the US
