Abstract:
This work focuses on engaging young resettled Somali refugees in literacy through culturally relevant works and physical movement. It includes an overview of access to education pre- and post-resettlement, challenges faced by students, the importance of cultural representation and movement in learning, and finally an implementation of a classroom activity.
